Wave Styling With a Curling Iron

Who doesn't love a beachy effortless look? Although not effortless we can create this look without too much hassle. So keep reading for your easy how to.

Tools needed: Curling iron, brush or comb, clips, styling product with heat protection, hair spray or texturizing spray.

Prep

1. Make sure your hair is 100% dry. Wet or damp hair plus heat from a iron is bad news. Comb or brush through your hair to detangle. Section out your hair with clips to make it easier to work with. Plug in your iron and make sure its heating up. I wouldn't go any higher than 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Use your heat protection product. My go to is Davines OI All in One Milk or Heart of Glass Sheer Glaze .

How to Curl

1. Take a small section of hair about 2 inches wide. Place your iron towards the top of the section by you head. 2. Start to curl the section away from your face while feeding in more hair into the iron. Make sure to keep the iron in an up and down or vertical position. Leaving out the last inch at the bottom so the hair isn't too curled. Repeat through out your whole head. Have a look at the video below.

Let it Cool

1. Once you have your whole head curled let the curls cool down. This is when I do my makeup so my hair has time to set. 2. Once curled go through and spray in your hair spray or texturizing spray. 3. Use your hands to comb through your curls with a bit of hair oil. I like to use Davines OI oil. And just like that you now have beautifully styled beachy waves.
